At law tide … shore fishing

With a net and a bucket, let’s go to explore the marine environment of the Bay.

You can shore fishing everywhere in the Bay, except inthe oysters parks. You can fish for al eatble species, except wild oysters.

Respect official minimal sizes :

Clams and Mussels : 4cm

Cockles : 3cm

Razor shells : 10cm

Too small shells must be thrown back into the sea

Suggestion :

Before going shore fishing, check the tides timetable. Go back to the beach, 1 hour after law tide.

Stay on the sandy areas or follow the Esteys because the bottom of the Bay is very muddy.

Tides

Every 6 hours, it changes !

Law tide, the water recedes entirely : perfect for shore fishing

High tide, the water is back, you can swim before the water receds again !
At high tide … Swimming, water sport or lazing

Enjoy the beach of the Bay of Arcachon in front of the camping or on the Betey beach

If you want to swim regardless the tides, you can find 2 bathing spots next to the camping :

Spot in Lanton (behind Intermarché) : lifeguard beach in July and August

St Brice Spot in Arès : lifeguard beach in Jly and August

Ocean Beaches

Grand Crohot Beach, about 20 kilometers from the camping. Lifeguard Beach from mid-june to mid-september

Truc Vert Beach, about 30 kilometers from the camping. Lifeguard Beach in July and August. Famous for its wild setting.
